The eighth edition of EN 60065, released in 2014, specifies safety requirements for sound, video and similar electronic products. The DOW of EN 60065:2014 (the latest revocation date of the standard in conflict with this standard) is scheduled for November 17, 2017. In other words, since November 17, 2017, all products entering the European market must be certified according to this new standard test.

This standard is based on RTTED (1999/5/EC), LVD (2006/95/EC) and GPSD (2001/95/EC) instructions under the harmonic standard. Video and audio products within the scope of RTTED and LVD instructions must meet this standard before CE can be labeled on the products. If your product must be evaluated in accordance with this criterion to reduce the risk that it may be required to stop selling because of non-conformity, Rhine TV of Germany can provide relevant consultation services. In addition, companies selling products that do not meet the requirements of the Act risk financial sanctions from European authorities.

EN 60065:2014 is suitable for electronic devices designed to be powered by municipal power supply, power supply devices, batteries or remote power supply systems and used to receive, produce, record or reproduce audio, video and related signals. This standard is also applicable to devices designed to be used exclusively in combination with the above equipment. This standard is mainly applicable to household and similar general uses, but may also be used in appropriate public places, such as schools, theatres, religious places and workplaces. Professional equipment for use in the above-mentioned places is also included unless such equipment is specifically specified in the scope of other standards.

If only EN60065:2002+A1:2006+A11:2008+A2:2010+A12:2011 is used for equipment within EN 60065, its conformity will expire after November 17, 2017. All existing certificates must be updated to EN 60065:2014 before the DOW date.

Compared with the seventh edition, the main changes in this edition are as follows:
